An Ocelot peeps out from beneath the foliage after a burst of refreshing rain: This piece was initially planned as part of my first series of oil paintings, but I quickly realised it was going to be a standalone piece. I experimented with a number of different reference images and combined them to create this original composition, which straddles the divide between conventional wildlife art and fantasy art (a lifelong love of mine!) The result is this dream-like scene, illuminated with soft light, dappled shade and the luminous green reflections of the abstracted jungle foliage.
Watersoluble oils with acrylic underpainting on cotton canvas.
12" x 10" x 0.75" / 25.4 x 30.5 x 1.75 cm
Wrap-around painting covers the whole canvas with hooks and framer's cord pre-installed , making the finished piece ready to hang without the need of a frame.
Gloss retouch varnish applied to the final piece.
